GENERAC MOBILE PRODUCTS S.r.l. with registered office in via Montenapoleone 29, Milan (Italy) (hereinafter “GMP”) aware of the importance of the protection of personal data collected by users in the context of the use of the sites and (hereinafter referred to as “sites”), adopts reasonable measures to maintain the security, integrity and confidentiality of the information in compliance with the European Regulation on the protection of personal data no. 679/2016 (henceforth “GDPR”).

Access to our sites requires your consent to the collection and processing of personal data, in the manner described in this privacy policy.

GMP, in accordance with Art. 13 of the GDPR provides the following information on the processing of data communicated by the User or otherwise collected while browsing the sites.

1. Responsible for processing the data

The data controller is GENERAC MOBILE PRODUCTS S.r.l. with headquarters in via Montenapoleone 29, Milan (Italy). The updated list of the internal and external managers of the treatment is available at the headquarters of the Data Controller.

2. Types of data

The data collected can be of different types:

  • Data provided voluntarily by the User

GMP collects the data voluntarily provided by Users by filling out the appropriate forms on the sites, or through paper forms or any other form suitable for the purpose.

  • Navigation data in our websites

The computer systems and software procedures used to operate the sites, acquire during their normal operation, some Personal Data whose transmission is implicit in the communication protocols of the Internet. This information is not collected to be associated with identified data subjects, but by their very nature could, through processing and association with data held by third parties, allow us to identify the users. In this category of data are included IP addresses or domain names of computers used by users who connect to the site, URI (Uniform Resource Identifier) of requested resources, the time of the request, the method used to submit the request to the server, the size of the file obtained in reply, the numerical code indicating the status of the response from the server (successful, error, etc..) and other parameters regarding the operating system and computer environment. These data are used only to obtain anonymous statistical information on the use of the sites and to check their correct functioning, to identify anomalies and/or abuses and are deleted immediately after processing.

The data could be used to determine responsibility in the event of hypothetical computer crimes against the sites: except for this possibility, at present the data are stored for the time defined by reference legal regulations for the time strictly necessary to provide the user with the requested service and to ensure the transmission of the communication.

  • Cookies

Sites use cookies to ensure the integrity of the registration process and for their customization. A cookie is a small text file stored on the User’s hard drive from a web page. Cookies cannot be used to run programs or send viruses to the User’s computer. Cookies are uniquely assigned to the User and can only be read by the web server of the domain that sent them. One of the main purposes of cookies is to enable you to save time. For example, if you personalize a web page or visit a site, the cookie will allow the site you visit to recall your specific information when you visit our site again.

The use of cookies makes it possible to provide the User with personalised content and makes it easier to visit the site. At the next visit to the website, the information provided previously can be retrieved in order to simplify the use of personalized functions by the User.


Beaconing-based web technology, also known as “clear gif” technology or “action tags”, may be used to send cookies to GMP sites. This technology allows GMP to compile aggregated statistics about the use of the website, such as the number of visitors who have interacted with key elements of a website page, such as links or images. GMP can provide aggregated statistical data to its partners.

Users can accept or reject cookies. Most web browsers automatically accept cookies. However, the User may change his browser settings to refuse cookies. If you choose to decline cookies, you may no longer be able to use the interactive features offered by the website.

3. Purpose of the processing

The personal data of Users are collected and processed for the following purposes:

  1. for administrative purposes in any case connected with the performance of contractual obligations or legal, accounting and fiscal obligations, including the related activities prior to the execution of contracts and subsequent activities relating to the execution of the same;
  2. to answer requests (information, quotes, assistance, etc…) that Users may make using the e-mail addresses or data entry forms on the sites;
  3. to allow navigation and consultation of the sites and access to reserved areas;
  4. to carry out direct marketing activities via e-mail, fax or sms, for services and/or products similar to those requested;

to draw up studies, research or market statistics, to send informative advertising material, commercial or promotional information.

4. Modalities of treatment and use of data

The User’s personal data will be processed mainly by electronic or automated means in order to ensure the security and confidentiality of the data.

Specific security measures are taken to prevent loss of data, illegal or incorrect use and unauthorized access.

5. Lawfulness of processing and optional or mandatory consent

For the purposes referred to in point 3 letters a), b) and c) the provision of data by the User is necessary, and failure to provide data, even partial, determines the impossibility of fulfilling the obligations arising from the contract to which the person concerned is a party and/or provide the services offered/requested, in relation to these purposes, consent is not required and the processing is lawful under Article 6 (1) (b) of the GDPR.

The processing carried out for marketing purposes described in paragraph 3 letter d) is based on the release of consent by the User under Article. 6(1)(a) of the Regulation. The provision of personal data for this purpose is entirely optional and does not affect the use of services.

The processing referred to in point 3 letter d), carried out for marketing purposes on products or services similar to those purchased by the User, has its legal basis, pursuant to Article 6.1.f of the Regulation. In the legitimate interest of GMP to promote its products or services in a context in which the data subject can reasonably expect this type of processing, to which he/she may also object at any time.

6. Communication and transfer of personal data

Users’ data are collected and managed at the headquarters of GMP or at the headquarters of the technical staff in charge of the maintenance of the sites designated as External Manager of the processing.

Notwithstanding the communications made in fulfilment of legal obligations, all data collected for the purposes indicated in point 3 may be communicated to the following parties:

  • Parties appointed by GMP to carry out activities directly connected or instrumental to the supply and distribution of products or services requested by the User;
  • Subjects who may become aware of them in their capacity as Managers or Persons in charge of data processing on behalf of GMP.

The data will not be distributed in any case.

7. User Rights

The User has the right to ask GMP, at any time, to access his/her Personal Data, rectify or cancel them (s.c. Right to be Forgotten) or to oppose their treatment in the cases provided for by Article 20 of the Regulation; he/she has the right to request the limitation of treatment in the cases provided for by Article 18 of the Regulations, as well as to obtain the data concerning him/her in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format (portability), in the cases provided for by Article 20 of the GDPR.

In any case, the User has the right to lodge a claim with the competent supervisory authority (Guarantor for the Protection of Personal Data), in accordance with Article 77 of the GDPR, if it considers that the processing of its data is contrary to the legislation in force.

In addition, in accordance with Article 7, paragraph 3 of the ISR the User has the right to revoke his/her consent at any time; revocation of consent does not affect the lawfulness of the processing based on consent before revocation.

8. Modifications to this privacy policy

The present Privacy Policy is in force as of May 25, 2018; GMP may modify or update all or part of the reeds content as a result of changes in the applicable legislation. In the event of substantial changes to the content of the information, GMP will inform Users by publishing notices on the home page of the sites or, alternatively, by sending notices directly to Users. GMP recommends that you periodically review this privacy policy so that you are always aware of the initiatives taken by GMP to protect the confidentiality of personal information collected.
